Everyone has belly
fat, even the very slim and trim people. Fat of the stomach is unhealthier and
more dangerous than fat in all other areas of the body. It is called visceral
fat. It is required as it gives protection to the organs of your body.
What are the dangers of visceral fat?
Visceral fat can
create problems even in the slimmest of people. The risks include causing
diseases like dementia, high blood pressure, type 2 Diabetes, and a few types
of cancer. It is believed that women tend to gain more weight in and around
their thighs and hips while men tend to gain more weight around the belly.
Belly fat is also commonly referred to as having a beer belly, while women tend
to take a pear-like shape as they age. Just for your information, a healthy man
should have belly line of not more than 38 inches and a woman should ideally
have a waist size that is less than 34 inches.
Few steps that you
could try to reduce belly fat are as follows:
Workouts: Exercise is
a must to reduce fat from all over the body, including the belly. You should
work out for a minimum of 30 to 45 minutes daily or do moderate exercise at
least 5 days in a week. You should also walk briskly every day for at least 45
minutes. If you like to gym, start with jogging or walking on the treadmill
before moving on to weights. Moderate activity for half an hour for three days
in a week would help control visceral fat from accumulating.
Diet: Adequate
amounts of fiber in food go a long way in preventing the build-up of visceral
fat. You don’t have to make any major changes in the other foods that you eat.
Eat breakfast on time. Breakfast is the first meal of the day and it should not
be skipped. Have protein packed food, healthy fats, and good quality carbs.
Consume eggs, veggies, fruits, and glasses of milk or homemade juices.
Sleep: You should
have the regular 7 to 8 hours of sleep every night. Research has confirmed that
people who have at least 7 to 8 hours of sleep tend to gain less visceral fat
than people sleeping for fewer hours. However, that does not mean you should
sleep more without controlling your diet or not exercise at all. Sleeping well
is a part of a health plan that’s geared towards achieving the goal of reducing
belly fat.
Stress: Stress is a
part of your daily life. You cannot avoid it. The best ways to handle stress
are to share your worries with close friends, meditate, exercise your mind,
practice yoga, etc. You can also start a cycle of Crazy Bulk supplements since these
